The process
How a Sagestone home gets built.
From signing your contract to settling into your home and completing your warranty year, here’s what to expect at each step: what happens, how long it typically takes, and how you’ll be involved along the way.
The short version
A familiar face from start to finish.
Your dedicated project coordinator helps you navigate the early decisions and stays connected throughout your build. With most selections made in the first two months, you can look forward to watching your home take shape, with regular updates keeping you informed, here in St. George or following along from afar.
How long it takes
Where the months go.
Construction is the variable. Everything ahead of it runs to a fixed schedule.
Contracting.
Sagestone takes care of all the subcontracting for you. Once your contract is in place with us, the only thing you need to think about is what you want in the home.
With more than 90 years of construction experience behind it, you can be confident the subcontractor relationships we have built will get you the most value in your new home.

Your ideas, coming together.
During our 14-day design process, we help turn your Pinterest inspiration into a plan for your home. We’ll guide you through the big choices and the little details you might not have considered, bringing it all together in a way that fits your style, your budget, and your everyday life.

Making it yours.
While engineering, truss design, and permitting move forward, we help you choose the details that make your home feel like you. Your project coordinator guides you through selections, and your project manager walks you through pricing so you understand how your choices fit your budget.
Choose from our pre-priced selections or bring your own ideas. Making these decisions early allows us to base your budget on your actual choices, giving you a clearer picture of costs before construction begins.
Watch your home take shape.
This is where your plans and selections become the home you’ve imagined. From the foundation and framing to cabinets and finishing touches, each stage brings your vision to life.
Your project manager oversees the work and keeps you informed along the way. With regular updates, photos, and an online schedule, you can follow the progress, ask questions, and share in the excitement as your home comes together.

Welcome home.
Before we hand you the keys, we walk through your home together, show you how its systems work, and share how to care for it. It’s your chance to ask questions and get comfortable with your new home.
Settle in. We’re still here.
Our support continues after you move in. Your one-year warranty begins when the certificate of occupancy is issued, and you can submit and track warranty requests through Buildertrend, the same online portal you’ve used throughout your build. The team you already know is here to answer questions and help with warranty needs as you settle into your new home.
Common questions
Questions? Let’s start here.
Here are answers to some of the questions we hear most often. If you don’t see yours, give us a call. We’re happy to talk it through.
How long does the whole thing take?
About ten to twelve months from the date of contract.
How many meetings do I have to attend?
Most of your time with us comes in the first two months, during design and selections. After that, your project coordinator keeps you updated and lets you know when a walkthrough or a decision needs you.
When do my selections have to be final?
Before the permit clears, at the end of phase 3. Allowances get written against the selections you made, which is what keeps the budget from moving once construction starts.
How do I see what is happening on site?
Through Buildertrend. Schedule, selections, change orders, photos and messages sit in one portal you can open from anywhere, and it stays open through the warranty year.
What does the warranty cover?
It runs one year from the certificate of occupancy, and items get submitted through Buildertrend so each one has a date and a record.
Can I make changes once construction starts?
Yes, with the cost and the schedule effect given to you before the work happens. Changes after framing cost more than changes on paper, which is why the decisions are front-loaded.
